Making Christmas

Today was supposed to be a pretty good day. While "any excuse for a party" was the lifesblood of a Fraggle, Gobo usually preferred leaving the decorating to someone else. But today was different. One, it'd be with one of his closest (non-Fraggle) friends and two, it would involve learning about a new holiday. So, it wasn't long after receiving the note that he popped out of the Fraggle Hole in Scrooge's backyard, heading up to the mansion doors.

He glanced at the string and then up at the tree, thinking. Then he nodded, smiling.

"Sure! It'll be easier than scaling down the Great Hall."

Keeping the string tight in one hand, once Bridge boosted him to the top of the tree he wound it around the thin part and fastened it in place. From there he carefully made his way down through the tree, pulling the lights around after him, occasionally pausing to readjust based on remarks from Bridge. It only took a couple minutes before he popped out the bottom, took a moment to shake himself all over, and walked toward Bridge.

"There! How's it look?"

He took a moment to survey Gobo’s work, then picked up the other end of the lights. “Let’s find out.”

Walking over to the wall, he plugged it in, causing the multiple colors to light up.

He backed up so he could see it, eyes widening.

"Whoa... Look at those lights!"

Bridge grinned. “Right? Remind me to take you to the park sometime. They have this big tree in the center, and when they light it up at night it looks incredible.”

[gobetween]

"Really? That sounds amazing! I'll have to remember to bring Red sometime too, I bet she'd love it."

“You should bring all your friends. Three of the four of ‘em would enjoy it.”

[gobetween]

He laughed, not unkindly, and nodded.

"Yeah, getting Boober out might be a struggle, but it'd be worth it."

“I’m sure we can find something about Christmas that he’d like.”

[gobetween]

"Well, he seems to like gift-giving. And you mentioned there's all kinds of special holiday food, right? He'd like that too!"

He paused, drumming his fingers on his snout in thought for a moment, then snickered. "Provided he follows a recipe for it. Boober's food when he goes 'off the book' isn't usually the best."

“Well, there are plenty of Christmas recipes out there. I’m sure we can find a few for him.”

Pulling over one of the boxes, he retrieved some ornaments and handed one to Gobo. “Here...find a good place to hang this.”

"I'm sure we can!" He took the ornament, curiously looking it over for a moment and then walking over to the tree. Let's find a good spot... "He'd really appreciate that, too. He hasn't said it, but I know he's been curious about the kinds of food Silly Creatures eat."

“You should bring him over sometime! If there’s anyone who can show him about our food, it’d be me.”

[gobetween]

"Sure! He'd really love that." Taking another ornament, he put it in place on the tree. "Especially coming from a friend. That'll definitely put him at ease." A pause, and a brief snort. "As much 'at ease' as Boober would get anyway."

[takeittothebridge]

He snickered a bit, hanging a few other ornaments. "Well, as long as we can get him to relax even a little bit, that'll have to be good enough."
