Well when I'm wemblin' west, I take the friend I like best, so we can wemble side by side
It had been a bit of a struggle to get up to the counter in the first place, though thankfully the person that owned the cart was willing to come around to the side and help. Especially since he still wasn't sure about this... "money" thing, and had to be talked through which would be best. The rest he dumped in something marked Tip Jar- it was about a 300% tip, by the way -and then picked up both cups, nodding his thanks. Walking around and out of the line, he looked around for where he'd left Wembley, then smiled brightly and headed over.
"Here ya go!" He ducked under the overhanging bush and held out one cup, keeping the other for himself. "Drink it carefully, it's pretty hot. But I promise it'll warm you up."

Crossing the courtyard, he scurried in through the open doors as a small crowd of people came out, laughing about something they were talking about.
"And I dunno why they named it crystal, I guess 'cuz it kinda looks like it from the outside? I know it gets really bright when the light hits it anyway."

He winked, then paused in the front lobby area for a moment, considering. Then he nodded and waved Wembley behind him, going over to a set of double doors with a series of numbers above them.
"Let's see here... I was taught how to use this, but..." Oh! Right. First, had to hit the Up arrow button thingie, which took a couple hops but he managed it alright. It was a few minutes of entertaining dinging and the numbers lighting up in reverse order, before the doors slid open to a carpeted inner room. Gobo stepped inside and turned toward an inner wall, which had a confusing series of buttons on it.
"Wembley, I'll boost you up and you hit the one that says 'Roof' okay?"
no subject
Oh boy.
"Okay, but Gobo, what if I hit the wrong one by mistake?"
no subject
"C'mon Wembley, you can do it!"
no subject
Aha, he'd hit it - and wow, the button lit up, too. How pretty! "I got it!"
no subject
"Great job, Wembley!" He carefully let him down and then, standing up, took a moment to adjust his clothing. "I didn't know what this thing was the first time I got in one. The doors closed, it shook a bit, then suddenly the room on the other side was different! But Daniel explained it to me once, it's a way for Silly Creatures to get up and down a whole lot of levels at once. It's kinda like... Well, it's kinda like when we drop stuff down a hole on a rope, and then pull it back up! It's that but a whole, whole lot bigger."

The comment was made with a smile, and he went on to say, "I like that! It's a little way for the Silly Creatures to keep remembering that there's magic."
Because, to Wembley, this seemed entirely magical.

He smiled at Wembley, then looked up as the elevator came to a whisper of a stop. The doors opened, and they opened on green. Though it was still obviously the top of a building, it was also a rooftop oasis, with an expansive, if currently closed, swimming pool to one side and, first thing to the elevators, many trees growing up out of embedded dirt plots in the cement, vibrant despite the cold weather. Gobo led Wembley out, through the trees and then a patio by the pool, and toward the edge where a tall metal fence closed off the whole area. Here, thanks to a stepped up area, they could see-
And what a view! The skyscraper was taller than almost any other building around it, indeed giving the two Fraggles, even as small as they were, a look at the entire city.

There was something about that view that made him feel smaller than usual, but- Not at all in a bad way. No, this kind of being dwarfed just left him filled with wonder... And thinking about all there was out there. So much potential for exploration, and now he could go along with Gobo. They'd see all of it!
"Gosh, the view from up here sure is nice."
no subject
"It is, isn't it? I love coming up here." He paused, then laughed some. "You wouldn't think so, huh? Coming from about as far from heights like this as you can get! But I love getting to see so much of- everything -at once..." He smiled, sighing contentedly after a moment. Yeah, even though up here was pretty windy and cold, and there wasn't much to do BUT look out on the city, there was something about it that just felt really special. Especially right now, sharing it with Wembley...

But none of that thought process really went through his mind. He felt safe right now, regardless.

He inhaled deeply at another long gust of wind, letting it help fill his longs. All kinds of scents filtered through his nostrils- the cold air, the falling leaves on the trees, distant smoke from chimneys, the streets below, food cooking in a myriad of restaurants -and he let it out in a long, happy sigh.
"I'm really glad you wanted to come out with me, Wembley. I wouldn't trade this for the world."
no subject
But as he turned over what Gobo just said in his mind - "I wouldn't trade this for the world." - his expression grew calmer, though still happy. He blushed a bit as he glanced down, right at the ground below.
"Neither would I, Gobo. I'm having a really nice time today... I'm just really glad me and Boober finally joined the rest of you guys out here."
no subject
"Me too. And I'm.. really looking forward to the idea of getting to explore more places with you, too. It's gonna be a lot of fun."
He fell silent then, seemingly just watching the city. But he was thinking, mostly about how only travelling with Wembley was coming to mind. It almost, kinda, sorta felt like the way he did when he thought about only being with Mokey sometimes, or only being with Red sometimes-
He blinked, half-glanced toward Wembley, then looked away, hopefully under pretense of glancing at another part of the city. That... couldn't be it, could it?? Wembley was his best friend! Once-roommate!
First friend...
..............Aw, beans.

He finally looked up, after some time, and glanced over at Gobo. He chuckled, nudging his side gently. "I can't wait to start."
no subject
"Me too, eh? We're gonna have a great time together!"
So he had feelings. So what? He was also happy with the girls, and he knew Wembley was happy with Boober. That was what mattered. This? Well, they would still get to do things together, go exploring, play music and games, what have you. That was all that mattered.
no subject
But no, right, not important right now.
"We sure are! Oh boy, it's going to be so much fun!" he said, with a joy he didn't even have to force. It was him and Gobo. Everything was going to be okay.

Pulling away from him, he jogged back over to the elevator, momentum giving him all the bounce he needed to hit the Down arrow. As the doors opened, he turned and gestured Wembley in ahead of him, the two of them off to whatever next exploring adventure, together.
