Well when I'm wemblin' west, I take the friend I like best, so we can wemble side by side

It had been a bit of a struggle to get up to the counter in the first place, though thankfully the person that owned the cart was willing to come around to the side and help. Especially since he still wasn't sure about this... "money" thing, and had to be talked through which would be best. The rest he dumped in something marked Tip Jar- it was about a 300% tip, by the way -and then picked up both cups, nodding his thanks. Walking around and out of the line, he looked around for where he'd left Wembley, then smiled brightly and headed over.

"Here ya go!" He ducked under the overhanging bush and held out one cup, keeping the other for himself. "Drink it carefully, it's pretty hot. But I promise it'll warm you up."

Wembley smiled brightly as he took the cup with both hands, nodding. "Well, anything that's gonna get me warmer is good right now," he laughed softly, taking a deep breath of the rich, chocolaty smell. It smelled great, but he was mindful of his friend's warning - rather than take a sip right away, he blew across the surface of the liquid. "Thanks, Gobo."

"'Course, Wembs." He smiled, and settled on his haunches beside him, gently sipping at his own cocoa. It had been a chilly day, not quite snowy but enough to warrant their warmer clothing, but even then after enough time out they were in need of something hot. So, remembering one of his last trips to Birchpointe, and that he had some- money -on him thanks to Perdita, he found a likely cart and ordered their drinks.

Now, with them in hand, he was content to relax for a while and watch the world walk by them, people completely unaware of the two Fraggles just within view.

Wembley laughed again, at the nickname, as he moved his hands around the cup. That alone was helping him warm up, considerably, and allowed him to do so while keeping a view of the much bigger world beyond their little spot.

"Wow," he murmured, head following one Silly Creature, then turning the other way to follow another go by. "Where are they all in such a hurry to go?"

"Different places, I guess!" He took a little sip of his drink, sucking it through carefully to cool it a bit on the way.

"Some have jobs, and some are trying to see friends, and I guess some are just going from place to place."

"Huh, yeah. Mokey said the Silly Creatures work a lot more than we do, right?" Wembley watched another rush past, then shrugged, finally taking a sip from his own cup - ah, that was hot, but so sweet, too. "Oh, that tastes cozy. Kinda like... Sitting by a fireplace, you know?"

"They do! Scrooge seems to be on the job all the time." Gobo watched him take a drink, and smiled a bit wider at the comment. "Yeah, it's really cozy. It makes me think of a hot bowl of rutabaga soup and the fireplace, just. Sweeter." He snickered softly. "And it's chocolate, not soup. Maybe it's not a good metaphor after all."

"It made sense to me," Wembley responded, casual and entirely genuine. He took another, longer drink from his cup of cocoa, and sighed happily when he finished. He smacked his tongue against the roof of his mouth a couple of times, savoring the flavor, before a thought struck him.

"Do we need to get new jobs, now?"

Gobo considered a moment, then laughed softly. "Well, you might." He teased, grinning lightly. "My job is still secure."

Then he laughed softly. "But I know we can find something for you in our new little spot! Maybe you can be an explorer with me."

"An explorer with my best friend, wow!" Wembley gasped, nearly spilling his cup with how quickly he turned his head and torso to face Gobo. "That would be really exciting... Oh, or really scary," he added quickly. "Gee, I don't know..."

[gobetween]

"Careful, Wembley!" His hand went out partway as if to catch the cup, but it didn't fall after all. "Don't want you to burn yourself."

He glanced at the sidewalk, then stepped out and gestured for him to follow. "I think being an explorer with you would be fun! Think of how much experience you have already. Like Bluerock! Or the Hole To Who Knows Where, or that time we climbed the Gorg castle."

"Right, right. Wouldn't want to burn myself," Wembley murmured as he followed Gobo out to the sidewalk. "Well, of course it'd be fun, it'd be you and me, Gobo! But do you really think I'd be much good at it? I mean..." He trailed off and shrugged one shoulder a little.

[gobetween]

"I think you'd be great at it." Gobo looked at him, smiling brightly. "You can do anything you put your mind to!"

Wembley smiled bashfully. "Well, the trouble for me is putting my mind to something to start with," he pointed out. "But... Gee. I would have fun exploring with you! And it's not like I can be as loud as a Silly Creature's siren, anyway," he pointed out with a giggle.

[gobetween]

"No, I don't think you can, eh?" He snickered some himself, and gently nudged him with his elbow, not enough to disturb the cup. "But it'd be nice to have someone to explore with! Especially around places like this." He waved a hand at the wideness of the city around them.

Wembley looked around - everything out here was so new; so frightening, yes, but also so wonderful. He really would like to get to see it all. "Well..." He drew that word out for a bit, struggling to really commit to the choice, but- "Yeah! Yeah, okay, it'll be fun!"

Gobo grinned brightly, pausing long enough to squeeze an arm around his shoulders in a quick hug.

"Aw, you'll love it Wembley! And even if you find something else you wanna do, we can still go out and explore together! Just like we are right now."

[forachange]

"We are exploring right now, that's true!" Wembley exclaimed, beaming. "And right now isn't scary at all! Oh, boy, Gobo, this is gonna be so great! We're gonna explore and find things and learn stuff!"

[gobetween]

"For sure!" He laughed softly, and took a longer drink of his cocoa. It was starting to cool off some, but was still plenty warm. The perfect temperature for a good long pull of it.

"I've been meaning to check Birchpointe out more anyway. I've only been here a couple times, some by myself and one day with Perdita, though that didn't exactly go the way we'd planned it. But I made a new friend anyway, so it all wound up okay."

"It's sure a lot bigger and taller than Duckburg, huh? And busier, too!" Wembley observed, spreading his arms wide - and accidentally spilling a bit of cocoa onto the sidewalk, in doing so. "...Oops. Well, uh, that wasn't too much, at least. So, which friend did you meet when you came out here with Perdita?"

He snickered under his breath- better on the sidewalk than his clothing? -then smiled at him.

"His name is Fenton, and he's another duck. He's..." Gobo paused, at a loss for a moment, then he snapped his fingers. "He's kinda like the Storyteller, but for information instead? I met him after Perdita and I got separated for a while, and at first I was pretty nervous, but that went away after a little while. We got to talking, and he asked me all sorts of questions about Fraggles, and he made notes and sketches and things like that. Said he was in Birchpointe studying people, and he'd never heard of a Fraggle before, so he wanted to get down as much information as he could."

"So he's an Informationteller?" Wembley offered. "It sounds like he's really smart... He must have answers to all sorts of questions if he's always askin' so many, huh?" He grinned, and there was a little skip in his step as he walked on. "Maybe someday I can meet him, and ask him a few questions about living up here!"

[gobetween]

"He certainly seemed to be pretty smart! I know he was a little hard to follow 'til I got used to it." He laughed softly, giving Wembley a wide smile. "I think he'd like to meet you, too! You guys could trade all sorts of questions and answers."

Wembley's snout scrunched in amusement. "That's okay, Gobo, I know I can be a little hard to follow, too. Oh, probably not for the same reasons, of course, but it still counts, right?"

He snorted teasingly. "You're only hard to follow because out of eight directions, you go in seventeen in any one sentence."

Wembley giggled a bit, taking the teasing in good spirits. "I do do that, you're right!" he agreed. "Or... Well, I guess it's more like I go all eight and then add the seventeenth, huh?"
