Well when I'm wemblin' west, I take the friend I like best, so we can wemble side by side
It had been a bit of a struggle to get up to the counter in the first place, though thankfully the person that owned the cart was willing to come around to the side and help. Especially since he still wasn't sure about this... "money" thing, and had to be talked through which would be best. The rest he dumped in something marked Tip Jar- it was about a 300% tip, by the way -and then picked up both cups, nodding his thanks. Walking around and out of the line, he looked around for where he'd left Wembley, then smiled brightly and headed over.
"Here ya go!" He ducked under the overhanging bush and held out one cup, keeping the other for himself. "Drink it carefully, it's pretty hot. But I promise it'll warm you up."

"That was pretty cool! I guess you must know about magic too, then."

"No, not really... I think everything Fraggles have is pretty small in scale..."

"Wait'll you guys see Fraggle magic. They're like if the Great Phoenix itself made little living critters outta music notes. They can pick up and learn ANY song, even if it's one they never heard before."
Finding what he wanted, his smile brightened and he put the phone back down, gesturing Gobo over.
"C'mon, thistle-puff!" He grinned, and when Gobo- with a glance and a shrug at Wembley, walked up to join them on the steps, Jingles started the music. "Show us whatcha got!"

A small, contented smile formed on his face as he took a seat on the sidewalk, and gave Gobo an encouraging little nod.

The song in question was a bright, bouncy once, and it wasn't long before he was tapping a foot to the tempo, along with the faint nodding. He looked down at his guitar as he startes strumming along, already picking up the main melody. The singing in the song started, and Gobo looked back to listen intently, smiling some. It didn't get more than a few lines in before he knew- he had it. His smile widened and his playing picked up energy as he started singing along.
The little Fraggle's impromptu performance got more cheery attention from the others, but it was when the real magic started that caused definite little exclamations of interest. Gobo continued singing along to the song, playing his guitar, and every little beat that his heel hit on the step caused a small rippling flash of color. And although the only instrument actually present was the one he was playing, the ones in the actual recording seemed more alive, more surrounding of the whole group, backing up his vocals just as much as they did the original singer's. Buoyed by the music he swayed back and forth with the rhythm, and flashed Wembley a bright, warm smile before he closed his eyes and tilted his head back, thoroughly enjoying singing that song.

But... Then the words went on, and it wasn't quite what he'd expected. This was a love song. Truth be told, he hardly noticed, at first. The words - the whole song - was taking second place to watching Gobo. He seemed so happy, and that was always great to see - but especially these days.
The chorus came around, and as Gobo sang about hearts beating, Wembley became more aware of his own doing so quite quickly. It was just- Well, it was just fun. Being with Gobo was always fun, and even when it wasn't, Wembley wouldn't trade it away for just anything. He'd done okay, ultimately, back in Fraggle Rock - before he'd come out here, but after Gobo had left. But doing okay wasn't the same as- As this. Now that they were all together again... Now that he and Gobo were together again...
Now he was home. More home than he'd been even down at the Rock before Gobo leaving, because... In a weird way, time apart seemed to have benefited their bond. It had been difficult, yes, but still, Wembley had grown and Gobo - gosh, Gobo had really just found himself, out here, and now things between them were even better than ever before.
Wembley's legs felt weird, kinda weak and wobbly. It was a good thing he was sitting down, because he might fall over, otherwise. And when Gobo smiled at him like that... Wow. He felt light-headed. Which was... Weird. Maybe not a good weird. Probably not a good weird, because- But no. No, it wasn't anything like that. Like love. Was it? It was just that being with Gobo was more than fun. It made him so happy; a sort of happiness he didn't want to ever, ever stop... Suddenly, his stomach felt a little queasy.

"'Little magic,' nothin'! You Fraggles are special alright. S'no wonder some people think you're good luck charms~"

"Gobo, that was really great!"
no subject
"Thanks! It was really fun."

"Hah, yeah." He laughed a little, rubbing the back of his neck, then he grinned and lightly punched Wembley's arm with the same hand. "Hey, maybe next time we can do something together, eh?"
2/2
"Welp! That was fun, but I think it's time we hit the road. 'Sides, Cody there's that thing we planned earlier, right?"
He handed the phone and speaker back to its owner and hopped down off the steps, grabbing Cody's upper arm and pushing him down the sidewalk some, gesturing for the others of the group to follow.
"Don't worry though, we'll all catch up to you again sometime! Anywhere music's found, a Fraggle's not far behind~"

"Bye, guys!"

"Yeah, it has, hasn't it?" He carefully walked down the steps and, noticing a bit of an icy patch, turned to hold up a hand to help Wembley down, without even having to think about it. It just seemed natural, get him down and onto the sidewalk safely.
"You know what? Since we're on our own again, I know somewhere with a great view. You need to see this city from the top!"
no subject
"Wait, see it from the top?" Wembley's gaze shifted upwards towards the many tall buildings surrounding them - and he broke into a grin. "Gee, Gobo, that'll be amazing... Lead the way! I'm with you."
no subject
"That's the only way I ever want it!" He grinned, then looked ahead and up around them, trying to find the right building he needed. As he did, he thought that the past couple of minutes there. It sure was nice being together with Wembley, wasn't it? They hadn't done this for a while, or at least that's what it felt like. Must be why it felt so special.
Spotting what he wanted, he started making a beeline for a tall, tall building, with a sign at the front of a wide paved courtyard that read "Crystal Heights Apartments."

Crossing the courtyard, he scurried in through the open doors as a small crowd of people came out, laughing about something they were talking about.
"And I dunno why they named it crystal, I guess 'cuz it kinda looks like it from the outside? I know it gets really bright when the light hits it anyway."

He winked, then paused in the front lobby area for a moment, considering. Then he nodded and waved Wembley behind him, going over to a set of double doors with a series of numbers above them.
"Let's see here... I was taught how to use this, but..." Oh! Right. First, had to hit the Up arrow button thingie, which took a couple hops but he managed it alright. It was a few minutes of entertaining dinging and the numbers lighting up in reverse order, before the doors slid open to a carpeted inner room. Gobo stepped inside and turned toward an inner wall, which had a confusing series of buttons on it.
"Wembley, I'll boost you up and you hit the one that says 'Roof' okay?"
no subject
Oh boy.
"Okay, but Gobo, what if I hit the wrong one by mistake?"
no subject
"C'mon Wembley, you can do it!"
