Scrooge stood near the window that looked out onto the city, high enough in the Manor that he could see better past the sprawling grounds of his home. Sunrise would be soon; somewhere out there, men had been carted off to jail from a warehouse complex. In his home various innocent parties slept- or tried to sleep -but no matter how much he himself had tried to settle down, he couldn't do it.

So he stood and watched, ostensibly to see the dawn break, but really he was just too anxious to rest.

"A little, in that it's more in line with Daniel's prior coyote form than it is your duck form. Still, I've had some practice helping others with troublesome transformations, this is no different."

He nodded. "Yeah, she's definitely in good hands regardless."

[moneymatters]

"That she is. Of course, I won't intrude on any time the three o' you choose to take together today, either."

"We'll see how it goes. You said you had some stuff to do today too, so I'm pretty sure we'll have time for everything."

[moneymatters]

"Well, I'm no stranger to juggling tasks," he said with a small chuckle. "But aye, we'll see how it goes today."

He nodded, finishing off his cup of coffee before pouring another. "Probably gonna need a lot of this today," he quipped, only semi-joking.

[moneymatters]

He chuckled softly. "Perhaps. Can try to keep it quiet if you feel like you need more sleep." A sip at his own coffee, then another laugh. "As quiet as a house with young children can be, anyway.

"Though, there's always Bear Mountain."

He snorted a bit. "Even if the house was quiet, I'd only be able to get more sleep if the others felt like taking a nap."

Which they might, but it wasn't a guarantee.

He lifted his mug with a light grin. "You never know."

With another chuckle, he nodded. "Right. Heck, after last night, maybe they'd want a nap at some point."

[moneymatters]

"You know, I wouldn't be surprised. And I'm sure even with two o' these in you," he said with a light jostle of his mug, "you might feel like one then, too."

[takeittothebridge]

He chuckled. "You know me. I can usually sleep anytime, anywhere."

Barring extenuating circumstances.

[moneymatters]

"Aye, I remember." He snorted. "And so does my back."

[takeittothebridge]

He snickered. "Sure, I hurt your back, but when a few coins roll under the couch..."

[moneymatters]

"See, now that's different. The couch doesn't shift unexpectedly and put my spine in a new alignment."

[takeittothebridge]

"I don't move around that much."

Even though he totally did.

[moneymatters]

"You don't notice it when you're asleep, but my fused vertebrae beg to differ."

[takeittothebridge]

"I guess what would explain why my bed sheets usually end up on the floor."

[moneymatters]

"I'm surprised it's only your bedsheets." He drained the last bits of his mug, then walked over to rinse it out.

"Well, I dunno if I move around as much with people there. They haven't complained before."

[moneymatters]

"Only because Daniel sleeps harder than you do. As for Rapunzel, give it time I'm sure."

[takeittothebridge]

He snickered. "Hopefully it's harder to move around when surrounded by other people."

[moneymatters]

"Aye, hopefully. I'm sure you would know by now in any case."

[takeittothebridge]

"Maybe. Daniel definitely would've complained, heavy sleeper or no."

[moneymatters]

"True enough." He snickered softly. "Still, I don't put it past anyone to be takin' a nap today, not after what happened. With any luck, the day'll stay quiet enough to do so, too."
